An independent jury awarded Christopher Phillips, Greening Homes’ President, with the prestigious CaGBC-GTC Industry Leader Award on October 13 during the CaGBC Greater Toronto Chapter Gala and Awards.

“I am really honoured to receive this award from the Greater Toronto Chapter of the Canada Green Building Council,” said Christopher. “The nomination came out of the blue, so I was a little surprised. I thank the independent panel of judges for recognizing me and Greening Homes for our work in sustainable and healthy home renovations.”

“Through all his efforts and dedication, Christopher is becoming an impetus for change in the building industry and is truly deserving of the Industry Leader Award,” stated the CaGBC-GTC on its website.

Also nominated for the Industry Leader Award were Alan Murphy, Principal of Green Reason Inc. and Craig Applegath, Principal at DIALOG.

In 2014, Greening Homes also won an award at the CaGBC Greater Toronto Chapter Gala and Awards in the Innovation in Sustainability category for our Beechwood Deep Energy Retrofit project.

Christopher founded Greening Homes in 2007. The company’s work in making homes healthy, energy efficient and beautiful has been recognized by BILD and CaGBC through various awards. Greening Homes subscribes to five core values, establishing it as a leader in green home renovations: responsible waste management, careful and informed material selections, efficient design and use of resources, ensuring healthy indoor air quality, and smart transportation to and from the site.

Greening Homes is also committed to community service. This year it partnered with CaGBC-GTC on its Legacy Project, helping to bring the outdoors inside at Eva’s Phoenix’s new facility.
