Howland Full House

We embarked on another project with Sam Sacks of Sam Sacks Design for this stylish home renovation project in the Annex area. This active family needed extra space for their growing family as well as a new nanny suite  – cleverly positioned to include a private entrance.

INFORMED MATERIAL SELECTION

• The concrete used for the new basement floor is high-slag content concrete
• California standard, lead free plumbing fixtures
• 97% recycled drywall was used throughout the home
• All framing lumber (where possible) was FSC certified
• The new chevron floors are finished with a water based stain and water based finish
• Roxul batt insulation was installed in all exterior walls
• Marvin custom double-glazed, argon-filled windows & doors throughout

HEALTHY INDOOR AIR QUALITY

• All new cabinetry is NAUF
• Zero VOC paint used throughout
• All wet-applied products (glues, caulking and paints) are no/low VOC

SMART TRANSPORTATION TO AND FROM SITE

• The GH crew either carpooled or rode their bikes to this site
• There were often 4-6 bikes on site
